Wildlife Photography

My wildlife photographs are mostly portraits. I care less about the species than about the moment an animal looks back, or moves past without paying me any attention. I try to keep enough distance that the animal behaves as it would anyway, and close enough that its posture and expression come through.

Collection Note

A quieter way into the wildlife collection.

Many of these are in black and white or muted colour, which puts the attention on fur, feather, and gaze rather than on the setting. Even the more dramatic scenes are photographed plainly. The works below are a good place to start and show the range, from close portraits to animals small in a big landscape.
